Responsibilities

– We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Senior Research Associate to join our dynamic research team in Manila.
– Responsibilities include conducting corporate governance research on publicly listed companies in the assigned region(s), and drafting recommendations for institutional investors on voting at portfolio companies’ shareholder meetings.
– Research tasks involve reviewing publicly disclosed information such as stock exchange announcements, annual reports, notices of meetings, company press releases, and news articles to collect governance-related data.
– Under the close supervision of the team’s analysts, you will analyze each company’s governance practices using a policy-based framework of market best practices.
– The primary focus will be on analyzing board structures and executive remuneration packages within the assigned companies.
– This role requires an ability to read between the lines and identify what is not being disclosed as much as what is.
– The role involves limited quantitative analysis but requires strong qualitative judgment.
– This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Makati City, requiring some regular office attendance.
– Write and edit research reports by reviewing publicly available information as disclosed by public companies, verifying data and issuing recommendations based on Glass Lewis policies.
– Analyze and make draft voting recommendations for governance and/or compensation related proposals in UK & Ireland.
– Help to provide assistance in the writing and editing of research reports by seasonal research associates

Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree required.
– Excellent English writing skills.
– Strong analytical writing and research skills (emphasis on qualitative analysis).
– Ability to quickly comprehend and summarize complex subjects.
– Ability to process data quickly and accurately.
– Must work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
– Genuine interest or knowledge of corporate law, regulation, finance.
